Summary of proposal:
There is a need to increase public and affordable homes in Tāmaki precinct. To address this, Tāmaki Regeneration Company and Kāinga Ora propose to redevelop approximately 380 existing public homes within the Glen Innes north-west neighbourhood. The properties will be redeveloped into approximately 1500 new homes, over approximately 10 years. The increase in housing will provide 34% new public homes, 33% affordable and 33% market homes.
A thorough assessment of the existing electrical capacity has been conducted. This has informed the development of a power network plan designed to support the planned development. It has been determined that the construction of both a transformer and a switch is necessary.
The ideal location for this infrastructure has been identified as 185 Taniwha Street. This area is designated as a Local Purpose Reserve (Scout Hall) Allotment 380, District of Tamaki, SO 42039.
