Introduction
This is a basic hut in the Eyre Mountain/ Taka Ra Haka Conservation Park.Easy walk from road end
1-3 hours

- Water from stream
4 bunk beds
This is a historic ex musters hut at an altitude of approximately 600 m.
The water source is from the stream behind the hut. Boil the water before you use.
The hut is 6 km from Mt Nicholas Road
It is possible to drive to the hut but you must get a key from the Invercargill DOC office before you go.

The access track requires a stream crossing
There is a stream to cross with 4WD before the hut. After high rainfall this may difficult to cross and the ground can be soft.
