Awarua-Waituna Wetlands

Introduction

Awarua-Waituna Wetlands is a 20,000 ha coastal lagoon, wetland and estuary system. It is one of the largest remaining wetland complexes in New Zealand. Awarua-Waituna is recognised as a wetland of international importance.
