Introduction

Best practice techniques for the translocation of several bird species.

Many successful transfers have been carried out in recent years by DOC staff and community groups following the translocation process.

We provide these best practice techniques to others, to help increase the success of future translocations of these species.

Methods include capture, processing, housing and transport of birds, through to post-release monitoring.
