Maraetotara river restoration project Maraetotara Tree Trust Hawke's Bay 130,435.00 To continue restoration and protection work of 43km (86km two sides) of the Maraetotora River. The aim is to create a green corridor along the length of the river to provide habitat for native flora and fauna. 
Lindsay Bush Restoration Forest & Bird, Central Hawke's Bay Branch Hawke's Bay 9,403.00 To continue the level of weed and animal pest control for the next three years with the use of contractors to be able to achieve the tasks.
Mawaihakona Stream Restoration Friends of Mawaihakona Stream Wellington 6,510.00 Seeking funding so that a trial section of the Mowaihakona Stream can be cleared of willows and other non-native flora then replanted with natives of the Hutt Valley streamside environment.

South West Chatham coastal restoration project Tuanui Family Trust Chatham Island 329,705.00 Building a 1.2km predator proof fence enabling the restoration of a seabird driven coastal  community in South West Main Chatham. At present the endemic seabird communities are on off shore predator free islands not accessible to many Chatham Islanders.
Tieki Te Taiao o Te Takiwa Hikurangi Takiwa Trust Gisborne 72,174.00 The hapu trust is a collective of whanau members representing the six marae within the Te Atianga-a-Mate/Te Aowera rohe promoting environmental protection initiatives to help restore natural habitat for flora and fauna within the hapu. 
Kumutoto Society for Conservation Biology (Victoria University Chapter) Wellington 1,829.00 An ecological restoration and cultural revitalisation project that is aiming to restore the forest through tree planting, stream conservation and restoration, and flora and fauna pest management. The cultural revitalisation includes highlighting Maori features of the forest, researching the historical and cultural significance of the area, as well as teaching cultural practices surrounding traditional Maori use of the forest.
Joining the dots: Phase 1 of a community-driven plan to enhance biodiversity on Wellington's doorstep Rimutaka Forest Park Charitable Trust Wellington 61,036.00 Funding will be used to purchase and install more than 200 self setting traps and 70 DOC 250 ferret traps and employ a contracted project coordinator to manage the scheme. 
"Ko Kopututea te putanga ki waho" (Kopututea is the passage to the sea) Kopututea 1 & 2 Trust Gisborne 4,348.00 Restoring at least six block areas of "dunescape" of Kopututea using weeding and pest eradication, re-planting programme. 
Planting Project Maraetara Farming Company Ltd Hawke's Bay 10,550.00 To complement the 5000 trees already planted with the help of HB Regional Council and the Holt family on the hillside/cliffs bounding the Ahuriri Estuary which is an important wildlife sanctuary.  
Hapupu Reserve Restoration and Containment Strategy Hokotehi Moriori Trust Chatham Islands 49,913.00 The project will design and implement a containment strategy to arrest decline in the kopei grove at Hapupu (a national historic reserve), and then use the results of trials in remedial action in other kopi groves around the island. It will also result in a new Management Plan for the reserve and a restoration strategy for the reserve and kopi groves elsewhere on the island.
Schools Outdoors Hawke's Bay Environment Conservation and Outdoor Education Trust Hawke's Bay 8,500.00 ECOED believes the best time to educate students about the outdoors is when they are in the outdoors. The development of the Wilderness Education Base allows this to happen in an environment rich in natural resources. In partnership with Robyn McCool, DOC Napier, ECOED developed a teaching resource to assist teachers to develop meaningful outdoor/environmental education programmes.  
CCCC Restoration Project Clifton County Cricket Club Incorporated Hawke's Bay 50,130.00 Create an ecological stepping stone between existing adjacent vegetation and ecosystems (to take the overflow from the near by Cape Sanctuary and be a stepping stone for the proposed HB Regional Council "cape to city" project. Increase native lowland vegetation. Increase the diversity of aquatic habitats through re-establishing marginal and back-water wetlands along the stream channel. Maintain flood channel capacity by keeping larger trees and shrubs on the fenced upper terraces.
Cape Turnagain Pampas Eradication QEII National Trust Wairarapa 12,240.00 Cape Turnagain is a nationally significant site, on Tautane Station, with high botanical, ecological, scenic, cultural, historic and prehistoric values. Pampas has spread through the site threatening the botanical and ecological integrity of this site. The need for action was recognised by QEII National Trust in 2011 and a successful application was made to the Biodiversity Condition Fund for a three year project to instigate the eradication of this weed.
Places for Penguins The Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society Incorporated (Forest & Bird) Wellington Branch Wellington 23,893.00 To enhance the sustainability of Wellington's little blue penguin population by mitigating the effects of human presence and activity.
Pukaha Restoration Pukaha Mount Bruce Board Wairarapa 34,783.00 Seek funding to support the re introduction of North Island robin and kakariki over the next two years and to intensify the rat control programme in this area. 
Whangawehi Restoration Project Whangawehi Catchment Management Group Napier 41,739.00 Wanting to fence off the lower 3km of the Whangawehi Stream on Pongaroa Station 3km of new fence to build. Retire 20 ha of prime habitat for endangered native fish species and establish a minimum of 51,000 native trees over 3 yrs. Want to establish 20,000 native on two other properties, Taharoa Trust and Grandy Lake Forest of 2 winter periods. Provide a framework to encourge environmental education through a unique Mataurange maori programme run by local tangata whenua in partnership with Te Mahi School. Expand the scope of our community based water and fish monitoring programme by doubling out water and fish monitoring sessions.
Willow and weed removal on Manawatu river Loop at Foxton Save our River Trust Palmerston North 9,202.00 Wish to re-establish wetland areas and replace the dense river margin willows with bank stabilising native species such as giant flax and toe toe. Willows and other weed species must be removed first. 
Hapaitia te Ngutu Awa o Kuku Ohau / Revitalising the Kuku Ohau Estuary frontage Te Iwi o Ngati Tukorehe Trust Palmerston North 31,420.00 To actively enhance the 2.4ha entrance site adjacent to Kuku Ohau Estuary, with native plantings for fore dunes, the ephemeral stream wetland and back dune areas as phase one of a wider coastal buffering strategy.
Whareroa farm Ramaroa Wetland restoration 2014/15 DOC and Whareroa Guardians Community Trust Inc Wellington 24,091.00 The Trust aims to progressively retire and restore all waterways in the reserve. The first significant area of wetland  to be restored on Whareroa Farm Reserve and is the first stage of a proposed 4-5 ha wetland. Intend to plant 6000 plants for riparian and wetland restoration.
Waihirere Domain Conservation Project Tairawhiti Environment Centre Incorporated Gisborne 8,696.00 The Waihirere Conservation Group is a community collective that have come together with the specific aim of protecting the unique ecological space that is Waihirere Domain.
Kia Hoko-ora Ka Tchuna - Freshwater habitat protection and management for Rekohu Hokotehi Moriori Trust Chatham Islands 44,348.00 To monitor freshwater fisheries and to promote sustainable habitat management.

Management and enhancement of kokako at Kaharoa Conservation Area Kaharoa Kokako Trust (KKT) Rotorua 40,174.00 The KKT are seeking funding to assist with the ongoing management of kokako in the Kaharoa Conservation area enabling a kokako census and maintenance of a predator control programme. 
Restoration of the Otanewainuku Forest Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust Tauranga 310,436.00 Funding sought to move to a semi professional organisational model by employing a contractor to administer and manage the expansion of pest control and kiwi translocations. 
Hinehopu Wetland Restoration Te Tahuna Trust Rotorua 5,205.00 Restoration of mauri of Hinehopu Wetland through the removal of invasive plant species as outlined by BOPRC Biodiversity Management Plan.
Community and Kōkako Enhancement (C.A.K.E) Project Rotoehu Ecological Trust Rotorua 23,982.00 Rotoehu Ecological Trust is seeking funding to undertake a pest control operation in September 2014.
Upgrade of current legacy traps and kiwi fence enclosure infrastructure Lake Waikaremoana Hapu Restoration Trust Murupara 144,102.00 To upgrade current infrastructure relating to the management of the Kiwi Recovery Plan in the Puketukutuku area. The trust is looking to upgrade redundant Fenn technology traps to modern DOC200 double traps increasing efficiency and effectiveness, and also to replace the netting on the enclosure fence to ensure that Kiwi numbers continue to grow.

The extra assistance will alleviate some of the burden on the trustees to ensure sustainability of the organisation moving forward.
Mokihinui-Lyell Area Predator Control Programme Mokihinui-Lyell Backcountry Trust Westport 91,095.00 To establish a predator control programme in the South Branch of the Mokihinui River catchment. The programme will primarily focus on stoat and goat control in areas of high density of blue duck. This will complement DOC and Tbfree NZ's plans of an aerial 1080 drop during Sept/Oct 2014 targeting rats and possums. 
CVNZ Coastal Amenities Engagement Programme Conservation Volunteers New Zealand Westport 169,899.00 To conserve, protect and promote biodiversity values of four significant coastal sites while providing low impact recreational and interpretive access to the locations. The project will develop a sustainable model of community environmental custodianship. 
Karamea Estuary Enhancement Project Incorporation Kaiawhina o te Wahapuu Karamea Westport 2,733.00 Preserve, enhance and promote the historic and natural values of the Karamea Estuary on DOC land. The project will provide educational opportunities and active involvement for members of the local community. 
Control of Hakea salicifolia on D'Urville island Marlborough Sounds Restoration Trust Nelson 24,145.00 Control the spread of willow-leaved hakea over about 4ha of private land on D'Urville Island. 
Robin Restoration Project Tui Nature Reserve Wildlife Trust Picton 54,557.00 Funding to purchase 100 Good Nature self resetting traps as well as covering the costs of the labour component for the initial installation of the new traps and redeployment of existing traps. 
Tawaki / Fiordland Crested Penguin Conservation Management Predator Control - Stage One West Coast Penguin Trust Fox Glacier 51,346.00 For camera monitoring of Tawaki nests over a three year period to determine the need for and type of predator control required to protect nesting colonies of Tawaki on Jackson Head, Haast (public land).
Tieke translocation - Adele Island Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust Motueka 6,391.00 Supporting the associated costs in translocating Tieke from Motuara Island in the Queen Charlotte Sound to the predator free Adele Island. 
Wilding conifer control in Abel Tasman National Park Abel Tasman Birdsong Trust Motueka 45,623.00 To undertake wilding conifer control on public land in the Abel Tasman National Park and the Boundary Bay Scenic Reserve, to complete the Trust's four year wilding conifer control programme as per its management strategy.

Predator control and biodiversity monitoring Cobb Valley, Kahurangi National Park Friends of Cobb Takaka 12,909.00 Funding to continue with the predator control and biodiversity monitoring programme taking place in the Cobb Valley that began in 2006. Funding will go towards replacement traps and the associated costs servicing existing ones. 
Roaring Meg Predator Paparoa Wildlife Trust Greymouth 33,913.00 To establish and maintain an infrastructure of 670 predator control traps across 3617ha of public land, the Roaring Meg Ecological Area. 
Brook Sanctuary development and regional collaboration Brook Waimarama Sanctuary Trust Nelson 187,826.00 Developing a 700ha+ pest free sanctuary for wildlife close to Nelson City. Funding of this proposal will allow the Trust to complete the key stages of sanctuary development by constructing a pest proof fence and eradicating all pests and mammals within it, then following this up with species re-introductions.
The eco-restoration of Uri O Te Wai (Bishop Peninsula), Delaware Bay, Nelson. Phase 2 the eradication of rodents (rats and mice) The Proprietors of Wakapuaka 1B Block Nelson 38,270.00 To eradicate rats and mice through a non toxin rolling trapping programme. This will involve an intensive trapping grid at the base of the peninsula with the front line sequentially extended forward until the western end is reached.
Kill Devil Re-mediation Golden Bay Mountain Bike Club Takaka 53,478.00 To improve the Kill Devil Track from Uruwhenua to Skeet Creek, recreating the track so that it is more accessible to the wider range of users
Rainy Creek Ecological Restoration programme West Coast Branch of Forest and Bird Westport 35,018.00 Establish routes for accessing Rainy Creek along previous pest control lines where possible and establish predator control for rats and stoats and possums in Rainy Creek catchment. Maintain predator control, establish monitors of ecosystem health in Rainy Creek with birds and specific key plant surveys, establish wasp control where possible. Year 3 extend the network of traps, bait stations and wasp control and continue to monitor and record data as the area being covered increases in size.

Willow control in the Upper Rangitata Catchment Upper Rangitata Gorge Landcare Group (Incorporated) Geraldine 39,130.00 For a weed control programme targeted at eradicating Grey and Crack willow that is becoming an increasing threat to the braided river habitat in the Upper Rangitata. The willows trap silt and stabilise naturally dynamic water channels impeding the flow of gravel, that is critical to the braided nature of the Rangitata. 
Arrowtown Gaol Restoration Project Wakatipu Heritage Trust Queenstown 65,218.00 To restore Arrowtown's Historic Goldfields Stone Gaol which was built in 1875.
Mokomoko Dryland Sanctuary Central Otago Ecological Trust Alexandra 127,654.00 Working at returning locally-extinct and nationally "critically endangered" native lizards to a part of the Alexandra basin where they once thrived. 
Towards a pest free Peninsula: Stage 5 possum mop up operation in sector 4 Otago Peninsula Biodiversity Group Dunedin 118,395.00 Conducting a mop-up operation of remaining possums in Otago Pennisula sector 4 south following on from the initial knock-down operation completed July 2013.

Southland wetland and peatland restoration QEII National Trust Invercargill 58,811.00 The project aims to restore eleven peatlands and wetlands as part of a wider Southland wetlands restoration project.
