Land status checks
Introduction
A land status check is required for all land management application. This process verifies the current land status.The land status check identifies:
- the Act under which a parcel of public land is administered
- whether or not it is in a special category under that Act
- if it is administered by the Department
- whether legal rights have been granted over the land
- if the land is subject to any special legal provision in any Provincial Ordinance, another Act, a trust created under a will, deed, or other instrument which is still in force
- how the Crown acquired the public land
