General policy

Introduction

General policy is the highest level of statutory policy for conservation management on all public conservation lands and waters, including national parks.

There are two general policies

General Policy for National Parks

General Policy for National Parks provides guidance for managing national parks. It replaces General Policy for National Parks 1983.

Conservation General Policy

Conservation General Policy provides guidance for managing natural and historic resources under conservation legislation. This policy does not cover national parks.
