Introduction
Forest & Bird is a national environmental group that has had a long standing partnership with DOC.
The Royal Forest & Bird Protection Society of New Zealand is a national environmental group involved in a wide range of charitable work.
Known as ‘Forest & Bird’ for short, it is registered as an incorporated society with charitable status and has around 40,000 members – plus 6,000 junior members in its Kiwi Conservation Club.
Its main purpose is to preserve and protect the indigenous plants and animals and natural features of New Zealand, for the benefit of the public, including future generations.
