School House Flat campsite is open over summer until the end of Easter break.
Fires are not permitted at any time. See fire rules on conservation land.

This is the main camping area with 150 sites.
It is closed in winter.

Campsite ranger on site October – May.
Fees
- Adult (18+ years): $10 per night
- Child (5–17 years): $5 per night
- Infant (0–4 years): free
Fees can be paid by EFTPOS when the Campsite Caretaker is onsite.
Passes
The DOC Campsite Pass can be used at this campsite.
1 km south of Ōtaki, turn into Otaki Gorge Rd. Campsite is 19 km east of Ōtaki township. Narrow gravel access with one stream ford.
