Herricks Hut

Located in Ruahine Forest Park in the Hawke’s Bay region

This is a basic five-bunk hut in the Hawke's Bay region.

Herrick’s Hut was built in 1960 by the New Zealand Forest Service, and is maintained by volunteers. Situated at 460m altitude, the area is relatively sheltered. Herrick’s Hut is largely isolated from other tracks and huts in the Ruahine Forest Park.

There is tank water supply.

Prior permission from the landowner is required to access Herricks Hut through Thorn Flat Station.
