This site is in the Adams Wilderness Area and is open year round for foot access.

This site is included in the ballot system for helicopter access (late April-June).

Helicopter access: Restricted to designated landing site only during ballot period.

Road access point: Whataroa road end.
Foot access: Very difficult. Via Perth river.

High and exposed campsite which is best when there are no gale winds or too much snow. Take a GPS to re-locate the camp in misty conditions Easy hunting on the front faces, Barlow front faces can also be accessed.

Suitable for 2-3 hunters. Good creek water is 160 metres to the West but steep and rough. Take a 10 litre bucket or similar. There is no handy firewood.
