Introduction

View sighting and control maps from 2019, taken for operational plans between 2018 and 2020. They include control operations and where tahr had been seen on public conservation land.

The following maps show aerial tahr control operations and identifiable male tahr sighted on public conservation land between September and November 2019. Identifiable male tahr were not targeted during these operations.

The locations of identifiable males were not recorded when work was undertaken by a contractor or Aerially Assisted Trophy Hunting concessionaire.

Official control for the 2018/19 Tahr Control Operational Plan was completed on 27 August 2019.

The maps below show where aerial tahr control was undertaken and where identifiable males were observed during official operations between 2 July and 27 August 2019 on public conservation land. Identifiable male tahr were not targeted in these operations.

The locations of identifiable males were not recorded when work was undertaken by a contractor or Aerially Assisted Trophy Hunting concessionaire.

Tahr control outside the feral range April to June 2019 

The following map shows locations, results and effort for tahr control undertaken by DOC on public conservation land outside of the tahr feral range between April to June 2019. This has been important work to stop the geographical range of tahr from increasing.
