Introduction
This loop track is an extension of the Basin View Tramping Track. It has a 300 m climb with extensive views.6 km loop
This loop track which is connected to the Basin View Tramping Track.
The entire Flat Top Hill Tramping Track and Basin View Tramping Track loop from carpark to carpark is 13km (return loop) via the Butchers Dam Loop Track. This takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete.
Travel south from Alexandra for 6 km along State Highway 8, before turning left to park at the Flat Top Hill carpark near Butchers Dam.
From the Flat Top Hill car park follow the beginning of the Butchers Dam Loop Track to get onto the Basin View Tramping Track. The Flat Top Hill Tramping track heads south off this track and does a big loop before rejoining with the Basin View Tramping Track.
