Tangihua Forest Nature Walk

Located in Tangihua Forest in the Northland region

This family friendly nature walk winds through native forest and takes just over an hour one way.

This track leaves the driveway in from the car park just inside the bush line, taking you up to an old logging track. Follow the track markers, keeping an eye out for the tree stumps of kauri logged in the past.

When the tack intersects with the driveway in, you can turn left to return to the car park or right to get to the Tangihua Lions Lodge.

The Nature Walk runs between the Lodge Road and Horokaka Track in the Tangihua Forest.

Tangihua Forest is located halfway between Whangārei on Northland’s east coast and Dargaville on the west coast. Your best access into Tangihua Forest is from Omana Road. The Omana Road Tangihua access car park has parking for 15 cars. You will need to walk 30 minutes along a formed road to the bush line.
