This is one of nine Great Walk campsites on the Heaphy Track, situated on the edge of Brown River.

All campsites on the Heaphy Track have water from a tap and toilets that are supplied with toilet paper. Brown campsite also has sinks.
Campers are not permitted to use hut facilities.
Hut rangers move between nearby huts in the summer. As well as checking campsite bookings, they are able to provide campers with information about the track and weather.
Fees
Prices are per person, per night. NZ rates are for New Zealand visitors and INT rates are for international visitors.

The DOC Campsite Pass cannot be used at this campsite.
Bookings
Brown campsite is a 5 minute walk from the start of the Heaphy Track at the Golden Bay end. It's a 4 hr walk to Aorere Shelter and another 1 hr walk to Perry Saddle hut and campsite.
