Introduction
This track frollows an easy grade alongside the river to the Wentworth Falls.6 km return return via same track
Dog access
From the campsite at the end of Wentworth Valley Road there is a 3 km walking track to the Wentworth Falls. The track follows an easy grade alongside the Wentworth River, with two bridged crossings, before climbing to a good view of the falls. Return by the same track.
There is a short section of track around 1 km up the track from the campground that has been damaged by storms. This section of track is uneven and rocky, and there is a small creek that is crossed by stepping on rocks – watch your footing and take your time, the rocks can be slippery. Do not attempt to cross the creek if you aren’t sure that you can cross it safely, or if it is flooding (for example: the water is high, fast, discoloured or has debris in it).
Experienced trampers can continue on to cross the main range Maratoto - Wentworth Crossing.
Turn off SH25, 7 km south of Whangamata on the Coromandel Peninsula, into Wentworth Valley Road.
