We’re excited to be celebrating Whio Awareness Week. We need your help this year to ‘Look out for whio’. This is a special time to raise awareness of this precious blue duck, to take action for whio and to celebrate all the amazing hard work people across New Zealand are doing to protect whio.
You can do your part by:

- Following Whio Forever on Facebook or Instagram

With Genesis’s help, DOC is able to operate whio security sites throughout the country, boost pest control efforts, and enhance the breeding and survival of these rare ducks.
DOC works with private and public organisations and community groups across the country on whio recovery programmes. These programmes are critical to helping whio populations survive and prosper.
