Volunteer with Kākāpō Recovery

There are currently no volunteer opportunities available.

We can predict the timing and scale of the next breeding season ahead of time. Once it is confirmed we advertise cook and feed-out volunteer roles.

Both are highly sought after, and we generally receive more applications than positions available. Feed-out volunteers are required to have an extremely high level of physical fitness. All volunteers need to be available to spend a minimum of two weeks on a rugged, remote island.
