Climate change and conservation
DOC is working to protect New Zealand’s native species, ecosystems, outdoor recreation and heritage sites from climate change.

New Zealand's biodiversity and natural landscapes are being affected by climate change. These changes are resulting in extreme weather, rising sea levels, and rising temperatures. This is putting pressure on our wildlife and wild places.

Adapting to climate change and reducing our national greenhouse gas emissions will increase the natural environment’s resilience to these impacts. So DOC is working to help our nature thrive.
