From SH2 at Putorino, turn into Waikare Rd and travel 13 km on a gravel road to the road end.
It is a narrow gravel road and large motorhomes or caravans are unsuitable.

The boat ramp is damaged and unsafe to use.
The track to the beach is steep in places. During winter or in wet conditions, it can become muddy.
