DOC Community Fund – Pūtea Tautiaki Hapori

Introduction

The DOC Community Fund supports community-led conservation projects on public and private land.

Funding is available for community groups, iwi and private landowners across New Zealand for projects that protect and restore our threatened species and ecosystems.

Shortlisting

Notifications for the shortlisting stage of the 2024/2025 round of the DOC Community Fund were sent in February 2025. If you have not received a notification, you can contact us using the information below.

The second stage of the process is still underway and we expect to communicate final decisions in April 2025.

Timeline

  • The 2024 fund has closed.
  • All applicants have been notified whether they have made it through the first stage of assessment. Note that being shortlisted does not mean you will receive funding.
  • April 2025 - The remaining applicants will be notified of final funding decisions.
  • May 2025 - It is expected that projects will be able to start, following negotiation of a Deed of Grant and all necessary permissions being in place.
