The workshop starts with a brief history of the classification of living organisms, including plants and an introduction to Latin nomenclature. The main activity is the plant identification quiz, where students identify up to 20 real plant samples.
A guidebook is available to assist with identification and students often work in pairs. DOC educators will review samples and provide information on special features of some plants.
