Visit the Queenstown Visitor Centre to find out about day and multi-day walks, camping and biking in the area.

Temporary move to Glenorchy

The visitor centre will be operating from 25 Mull Street, Glenorchy (formerly the Glenorchy Café) from Monday 13 January to Sunday 26 January 2025. Our hours are 8.30am-4.30pm seven days a week.

During this time our Queenstown Visitor Centre location at 50 Stanley Street, Queenstown will be closed.

Our email and phone number will still be the same during the two weeks based in Glenorchy +64 3 442 7935, queenstownvc@doc.govt.nz.

Our information and services will be available at the new location. 

Get local outdoor knowledge on Queenstown and nearby Glenorchy, Arrowtown and Mount Aspiring National Park, and regional advice on the lower South Island. 

Our experienced team will point you to the must-do outdoor activities or find alternatives to get off the beaten track.

Getting there

Follow SH6A, the main road into central Queenstown. 

Opening hours

  • November to April: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm daily
  • May to October: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. Closed weekends. 
  • Anzac Day 25 April: 1 pm – 4:30 pm
  • Open on public holidays, except Christmas Day 25 December
