Te Rua-o-te-moko / Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre is in the lakeside town of Te Anau, the gateway to Fiordland National Park – part of the Te Wāhipounamu World Heritage Area.
Reduced hours
Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre is reducing the opening hours due to staff shortage.
Opening hours are 9 am -12 pm / 1 pm - 4 pm until further notice.
Visitor centre will be closed 17, 20 and 21 November, but we will respond phone or email enquiries.

Getting there
We’re on the waterfront, at the corner of Lakefront Drive and SH95 Manapouri Highway. It's a 10 minute walk from Te Anau's main street.
Opening hours
Phone us or check here for any last minute updates to our opening hours.
- Winter (4 May to 20 October): Monday to Saturday from 9 am – 4 pm, closed for lunch 12 - 1 pm. Closed Sunday.
- Summer (Sunday 20 October to April): Friday to Wednesday 8:30 am – 4:30pm and Thursday 9 am to 4:30 pm.
- Anzac Day, 25 April: open 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
- Open on public holidays, closed Christmas Day.
