This 2008 manual provides guidelines on how to use the New Zealand Threat Classification System, and outlines the processes by which candidate taxa and informal entities will be listed.

Lists from the 2008-2011 listing cycle were published in independent peer-reviewed scientific journals. These journals hold the copyright to this information therefore we cannot republish it here.

"Classifying species according to threat of extinction – a system for New Zealand" 2002 is the first manual of the NZ Threat Classification System. It replaced the Species Priority Setting System (Molloy & Davis 1992).
