Summary

View the Department of Conservation's Pūrongo-ā-tau / Annual Report for the year ended 30 June 2023. Presented to the House of Representatives pursuant to section 44 of the Public Finance Act 1989, this is a report on the operations of the Department of Conservation.

Our Annual Report has two parts: Part 1 provides an overview of Te Papa Atawhai, including who we are and what we do, how we are delivering on our strategy, and reporting on our performance from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. This part is now also available in Te Reo Māori for the first time ever, as part of our commitment to be an honourable Treaty partner.

Part 2 contains the independent auditor’s report, our financial statements, and appendices. This part has not been translated.

There is also a summary which provides a snapshot of facts and figures from our audited 2022/23 Annual Report. This is not intended as a substitute for the Annual Report.
