Deans Bank Track

Located in Wānaka area in the Otago region

This loop walking and mountain biking track meanders along the upper slopes of the Clutha river and offers spectacular views of surrounding peaks and Otago landscapes.

This uni-direction single track weaves through typical Otago landscape featuring matagouri and tussock. There is a small section of shade on the track as it passes through the edge of a pine plantation.

A selection of berms and tight corners appeal to intermediate mountain bikers, with easier riding options around rocks and other technical obstacles.

Riding the track in one direction means everyone travels in the same direction, which reduces the risk of collisions.

This is a shared-use track. Follow the mountain bikers code: respect others, respect the rules, respect the track.

The track was designed by Bike Wānaka and formed by local volunteers.

The track starts across the stile from the northern end of the Albert Town camp grounds on SH6, 5 km from Wānaka. The track is situated on public conservation land between Albert Town and Dublin Bay.

Your safety is your responsibility. Stay safe in the outdoors and follow the five essential steps of the Land Safety Code.

Follow the direction indicated on signs.
