The Supporters of Tiritiri Matangi is a non-profit conservation volunteer group, founded in 1988 to restore the island of Tiritiri Matangi and establish an open sanctuary for endangered native species.

The organisation now works in partnership with DOC to further the goals of restoration and introduction of species, along with providing guiding for visitors and an education programme.

Since 1984 over 280,000 trees have been planted by thousands of volunteers.

Tiritiri Matangi provides a special opportunity to see some of our rarest birds and other species.
