Westland Tai Poutini National Park management plan amendment

The Department of Conservation proposes to provide pedestrian and cycle access paths from the State Highway to the Franz Josef Glacier Kā Roimata o Hine Hukatere and Fox Glacier Te Moeka o Tuawe road ends.
Other than on existing formed vehicle access roads, cycling or the construction of cycle routes within the boundaries of Westland Tai Poutini National Park is not currently provided for in the Park’s management plan, therefore an amendment to the management plan is required.
Submissions have been analyzed and are with the West Coast Tai Poutini Conservation Board for comment. All submitters will recieve a response to their submission in the new year.
